Where to post your event for marketing?

So, you created your event. You secured the venue, you decided the date and time, you found your musical acts, your companies vending, your brands sponsoring, and your target audience that you want attending. You just started selling your tickets on PromoTix, the world’s first free ticketing platform for events and so you think, now what? What is next?

Marketing. Marketing is what’s next.

But marketing can be a whole other ballgame, which we all come to learn in due time. When planning an event, you probably have a pretty good idea of what needs to be done, but when it comes to marketing, it may be hard to decipher where to even start. Fortunately, there are many places on the Internet that help you to amplify your event to wider audiences.

And that is why we created this blog: to help you market your event utilizing tools you may not have thought of. After reading through this complied list, you will be marketing your event in numerous places in no time—effortlessly.

1. SponsorParty

SponsorParty is not only a great place to post your event for marketing where potential attendees can find it, but it's also a great place to market your event to potential sponsors. You can list your event for free on SponsorParty and include your different opportunities for sponsorship. Sponsors may then reach out to you about giving you money towards pulling off your event, in exchange for getting in front of your attendees. Of course, you can list your "buy tickets" link on SponsorParty as well.

2. SpinGo

SpinGo is super easy to use. The website lists your event across multiple online event apps and calendars. As soon as you click on the site, you are directed to the page that allows you to post your event. You first list your event title, then the venue it is being held at, followed the time, date, and description of the event, and a few more details, and then, boom, your event is posted for marketing.

3. Events Near Here

Events Near Here allows you to post your event and market it by using free event listing tools and search engines. You can post events ranging from festivals to yard sales to car shows and much more. All you need to do is create an account and then add your event to their website.

4. Patch

Patch is a hub for local event postings. The site allows you to market your event in your selected area quite easily. You can submit events ranging from theater, yard sales, seminars, concerts, fundraisers, to even virtual events.

5. Town Planner

Once you sign up and create an account, you can start posting your event to Town Planner. The site will post your event on their website and market it in their weekly newsletters which specialize in sending relevant local content to their subscribers. You can even create a profile for your organization or business that appears in the online directory.

6. City News Websites

Many news websites would love to promote your event on their website. Not only does this drive traffic to their site, but they also like to stay up to date with what is going on in their city. My best advice would be to search “post an event in (your city’s name)” online and see what comes up. You will likely find a handful of local resources to reach out to.

7. EventCrazy

EventCrazy is “America’s search engine for fun things to do!” You can browse events by searching for dates, places, or topics. Once you create an account, all you have to do is submit your event to be marketed.

8. Eventful

There are even separate tabs for movies and virtual events. You can search for events by typing in cities or keywords, and once you have created an account adding your event is very simple.

9. eventseeker

eventseeker is a fantastic way to promote your event in your city. The website lists events ranging from concerts, theater, sports, the arts & museums, dance, nightlife, education, business, festivals, family, and community. It's easy to add your event to the website simply by logging in.

Yelp started as a business review site, but now it has turned into so much more. There is an “Events” section in the top right corner when you enter the website. You can search for events by city, dates, music, film, fashion, food and drink, charities, sports, and many more categories. You can market your event on Yelp by logging in and creating an event on the “Events” webpage.

14. Facebook

Facebook is a powerful way to figure out what is going on in the world around you, whether it has to do with your friends, family, local community, or around the globe. Making a Facebook event page is a simple and effective way to market your event and reach people easily. You can create an event by going to the “Events” section, pushing “+Create” and going from there. This helps you keep all of the information about your event centralized in one place. Once you create your event page on Facebook, you can share it inside Facebook groups that are related to your event, helping to market it even more.

15. LinkedIn

For business-related events, LinkedIn is a much more sufficient marketing tool than Facebook. You can create an event by going to the left sidebar and clicking “Events”. When creating your event, you can add your broadcasting link, speakers, and ticketing platform. You can also make it either a public or private event.

16. Twitter

You can easily share your event on Twitter, but you need to make sure it is under 280 characters. My advice would be to post a picture of your event flyer (if you have one), and tag hashtags that are related to your event. Using those hashtags will help boost views and engagements with your post.

17. Instagram

You can market your event on Instagram by sharing it on your personal pages, business pages, and stories. Similarly to Twitter, use hashtags to gain more traction on your post. Tag the venue, speakers, musicians, caters, etc., so they can repost your event and share it with a larger audience.

18. YouTube

If you are video savvy, then YouTube might be the website for you. Using YouTube can help you think outside the box and grab your audience’s attention. First, you should create a teaser video for your event and upload it to your YouTube channel, and then share it on your social media pages for more views. After your event has taken place, you can put together a highlight video and share with others so they can see what they missed out on. This becomes an endless cycle of beautiful creativity and film expertise which will help generate more interest in your future events.

19. Google

If you have a business, organization, or company website, then you should absolutely use Google. When promoting your event on Google, if you work towards improving the keywords included in your webpage, blogs, headlines, and other resources related to your event, you can perfect your SEO and your event will be placed higher in Google's search listings. There are easy ways to do this, such as researching keywords and algorithms related to your website and including them in your content. You can follow this SEO guide for events for detailed information on how to improve your SEO.

20. Pinterest

Although Pinterest does not get as many "eyeballs" as Facebook or Instagram, it can still be a very useful marketing tool. By creating a board for your event by using pictures, GIFs, and other pins, you can advertise your event in a different way compared to other platforms.

21. All Conferences

If you are trying to market a conference, allconferences.com is a fantastic place to start. allconferences.com showcases over 100,000 conferences, trade shows, conventions, seminars, expos, and exhibits. Visitors can search events by date, venue, and location. To create a listing for your event, head to the top right corner of the webpage.

22. The Business Journals

The American City Business Journal is a media company providing coverage of business communities and breaking news. The Business Journals is a division of ACBJ that features business events across the United States. Although it does cost money, you can add your event to this website and market it to business professionals.

23. Crain Communications

Crain Communications is a privately held business publisher reporting on business endeavors across the globe. They have separate websites for different cities, and each website has a section for events that you can post in. From their website, navigate to "brands" and under "REGIONAL BUSINESS PUBLICATION" select your corresponding region. On the right hand side of the page select "WEBSITE". From there find "EVENTS" (either on the main menu or under "MORE +") and under that menu you will find "SUBMIT YOUR EVENT".

24. Evvnt

Evvnt is a digital event marketing platform that allows you to post your event to multiple listing sites at the same time. 25. Bandsintown

Bandsintown is a platform that allows fans to search for their favorite artists or bands and find the latest information regarding tour dates, live events, live streamed events, and more. This is an excellent way to market concerts, music festivals, and other music-related events.

26. Meetup

Meetup is the place to “discover events for all the things you love,” and with that being said, I do not see another reason why you would not join the site. It is easy to join, and once you do, you can simply create an event and market it. Meetup includes events from every category, including career, business, outdoor and adventure, learning, health and wellness, technology, social, LGBTQ, book clubs, hobbies and crafts, and more.
