PromoTix's built-in live streaming software allows you to broadcast your event to viewers at home who have purchased a ticket. This guide will show you how to live stream your event on PromoTix.
NOTE: This tutorial assumes that you already know how to create a PromoTix virtual event. For instructions on how to create a PromoTix event, click here.
Once logged in to your PromoTix account, click on your "Broadcast Live" tab from the side navigation menu.
NOTE: Guest lists are only available to our Promoter Package customers. You may to complete a checkout process in order to issue virtual tickets to guests.
NOTE: While OBS is the most popular streaming service used with PromoTix, any hardware or software that uses an RTMP address and stream key for live streaming purposes can also be used.
For the purposes of this how-to, we will be using the "Start Cam" option. For a complete guide on using OBS with PromoTix, click here.
To start previewing your audio & video, click on the "Start Cam" button. You may need to enable permissions for PromoTix to access your camera and microphone:
NOTE: You can always access your camera and microphone permission settings from your browser's settings.
Once PromoTix is connected, check your camera and test your audio levels using the meter in the top right hand corner of the screen:
Once you're ready to end your stream, click on the "Stop Broadcasting" button.
TIP: If you ever need to boot someone from the chat feature, click on their name in the chat window.
NOTE: While it is possible to stop and start streaming again throughout an event, this is not recommended. Due to the secure nature of PromoTix, all of your live viewers will be required to rejoin your stream.
