How to create a registration contest

One of PromoTix's most powerful marketing tools is Registration Contests. With this tool, you can create "gamified" contests, notify your potential attendees as soon as your tickets go on sale, and capture thousands of points of data to amplify your marketing efforts.

1. Setup your organizer profile page

Before creating a registration contest, if you would like to have your contest participants "like" or "follow" your different social media pages in order to earn points, you will first need to setup your organizer profile page and add all of your social media links.

Once you're done, move onto Step 2.

2. Click on your Registration Contests tab

Click on your "Registration Contests" tab in the side menu navigation.

3. Create a new Registration Contest

Click on the "New Registration Contest" button to start creating your contest.

4. Select one of your events

In the dropdown menu, select one of your events on PromoTix.

5. Fill out the additional settings

Fill out the following settings:

  • A 👉 Select the date that you would like your contest to end (your contest will start running as soon as it's published)
  • B 👉 Select the time that you would like your contest to end.
  • C 👉 To send out an email blast once your contest is over, select one of the options in the dropdown menu. For example, if your tickets are not on-sale yet, you can send all of your contest registrants an email blast as soon as your tickets go on-sale to maximize sales.

Once you're done, click on the "Save & Continue" button.

6. Customize your Registration Contest page

Customize your contest's page by clicking on the pencil icons scattered throughout the screen. You can also change the color of the header bar by clicking on the paintbrush icon in the top left corner.

Once you're ready to publish your contest, click on the "Publish Live" button in the top right.

NOTE: The Promoter Package is required in order to publish registration contests. If you do not have the Promoter Package activated, you will be asked to activate it in order to publish your contest.

7. Share your new contest with the world

To share your new contest, click on your contest on your Registration Contests tab.

Afterwards, click on the "Share Page" button. You can copy the link to your public page, or share directly to social media.
